Last year I went down to Costa Rica to with Ox, his lady Jessica, and Garland. Ox and Garland were there to do freestyle demos at a local supercross race in San Jose for two weekends. They invited me to take photos and hang out and surf. Between the weekend shows, the weekdays were wide open, so we made the best of it and rented a 4×4 Suzuki and went up and down the pacific side of the coast surfing and relaxing.

We got back to San Jose for the show a day early so they could practice. The promoter had a clapped out KTM 250 and and even worse CR 250 that they were supposed to ride. Ox and Garland rightfully refused to ride those and waited for some new Honda’s the next day. When they came Ox took a spin around the “Supercross” track and went over the bars pretty bad from hitting a slippery spot over the tripple. He was fine and the night show ended up great. Costa Rican’s love motocross and treated us like rock stars. Ernesto Fonseca is from Costa Rica and his legend status over there is that of Michael Jordan in the US…crazy!
