Totally Baked: A Pot-U-Mentary trailer
So I was flippin’ through Black Men Magazine the other day (don’t ask) and came across this Suzuki ad featuring Ricky Carmichael
Circle of Iron ipod
You Can’t Stop the Murders move Sharpshooter dvd for the 2006 Suzuki RM250Z. ‚ÄúCool‚Äù I thought, ‚Äúa moto ad in a semi-porno magazine! Sweet!‚Äù
Then I read the text: “Everyone knows women can’t resist bad boys…and the limited edition 2006 Suzuki RM250Z, an exact replica of the one ridden by Team Makita Suzuki Racing champ Ricky Carmichael, is the baddest boy of them all. The Motocross model boasts racing graphics, gold-colored wheels, and a black seat—hot enough to make her want to pull up to your bumper…baby!”
What is Suzuki really saying?
While I can‚Äôt argue that chicks dig dirt bikers (they totally do!), all that other junk in there (sexiest cycle, bad-boy attitude, blingin’ gold rims, hot black seat?), well, seems to be directed toward stereotypes. If I was a black guy looking for a dirt bike I would not even consider a Suzuki — I would go buy from a manufacture like Kawasaki who supports motocross riders like James Stewart
… actually, I take that back, I’d still ride a Honda!
