Came by this sight on my trail ride from Ensenada to La Paz last year. We stopped for tacos half way through the first day in some little town. This trailer was next door and I thought it was pretty random to have a sign for a skate pool in the middle of nowhere. I even looked around and there was nothing even close to a pool, let alone anything skateable in the area. I wonder where that trailer was parked when there was a new skate pool next to it?
I went to Anaheim 2 two weekends ago and shot some photos of practice from the stands with my little 75-300 IS lens. It’s much easier not lugging around a ton of gear and getting hassled by the power-tripping, minimum wage security force of the Big A. Plus, the soft card media passes don’t give you much pull around there, so I took the path of least resistance and just didn’t shoot very many photos, acted like a tourist and just ejoyed the good racing. But I did add a few of the practice pics I got to the Motocross Photo Gallery, with appearances by A2 winner Ricky Carmichael, Nathan Ramsey, Billy Laninovich and James “Bubba” Stewart.
^ This 120′ kicker was built for the “Job Site Invitational” this past Monday. Ronnie Renner stepped up to the plate and hit the jump first, then proceeded to huck this heart attack over it for your viewing pleasure. Nice job Renner!
I have a bunch more shots from the event but, of course, I haven’t had time to look through them all yet. When I do get to it I’ll throw up the choice shots for y’all.

Myself, Trigger Gumm and Cameron Steele went on a Baja tour with Trail Boss Tours back in October, from Estero Beach down to La Paz. The Trail Boss led us through some of the roughest and most technical terrain in the world, from mountain passes and whooped-out roads, to windy paved roads and wideopen beaches. I’ve been to some pretty cool places in the years I’ve been riding, but nothing can match the sights of Baja on a dirt bike.
I shot this photo of Trigger about 2 miles south of Scorpion Bay, by way of open beach. The whale lookin’ thing that used to be a fishing boat is definitely something you would never see in the states. There are a couple other photos from the trip in the Motocross Photo Gallery.
I’ve been lagging a little on the Photo a Day thing. I might change it to a “Photo a Weekday” because I’m over computer dorking out on the weekend, I just can’t pull it off…but the dork inside me will make me still try. I was at the LG Action Sports FMX Championships Friday and Saturday shooting photos and what not. I got some cool stuff and I will do a photo gallery later this week.
